At Community LINC, we rely on the generosity of donors to provide essential items that help families transition from homelessness to stable housing. Your in-kind donations directly furnish homes and supply necessities, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

Our Wish List

Each year, we assist hundreds of households in need of basic supplies to make their new residences feel like home. We kindly request that all donated items be in new or like-new condition. For your convenience, you can purchase and send needed items directly through Amazon.

Items We Always Need:

  • Mattresses and Box Springs (Queen & Twin)
  • Bedding Sets (Queen & Twin)
  • Couches
  • Tables and Chairs
  • Lamps
  • Dressers
  • Cookware
  • Small Kitchen Appliances (microwaves, blenders, toasters, etc.)
  • Bath Towels
  • Vacuums
  • Basic Cleaning Supplies
  • NEW Small Toys

Donation Drop-Off Information

We prefer item drop-offs at our facility located at 4012 Troost, Kansas City, MO 64110.

For Small In-Kind Donations:

You can drop off small items anytime during our normal business hours.

For Larger Items (e.g., beds, couches):

Please contact Bob at 816-389-8262 or email volunteer@communitylinc.org to arrange a drop-off time or to inquire about possible pickup options.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of in-kind donations does Community LINC accept?

We gratefully accept a variety of new or gently used household items, furniture, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and non-perishable food. For a full list of accepted items, please refer to our Current Needs List on this page.

Do you accept used furniture or mattresses?

We only accept furniture that is in excellent condition and free of stains, tears, or damage. Unfortunately, we cannot accept used mattresses due to health and safety regulations.

Can I donate clothing or toys?

While we appreciate your generosity, Community LINC does not accept clothing or toys at this time. We focus on essential household items that directly support our families’ transition to stable housing.

Where and when can I drop off donations?

Donations can be dropped off at our main location during designated hours. Please contact us in advance to schedule your drop-off and ensure staff availability.

Can I arrange a pick-up for large items?

Currently, we are unable to offer pick-up services. All in-kind donations must be delivered to our facility.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my in-kind donation?

Yes! Upon request, we provide tax acknowledgment letters for all donations. Please be sure to include your name and contact information when dropping off items.
