Rest. Restore. Renew. Experience the Growth and Healing

At Community LINC, our mission is to end homelessness by equipping and empowering families to achieve stable housing, resilience, and lasting independence. The "Rest. Restore. Renew." program is our transformative, phased approach to achieving this goal. It’s designed to guide families through a journey of stabilization, personal growth, and renewed independence.

Rest. Restore. Renew. Experience the Growth and Healing.

Phase 1: Rest

The journey begins with a foundation of stability and belonging. During the first part of the program, families:

  • Integrate into our campus community, participating in activities to establish a sense of safety and belonging.
  • Work with a dedicated Family Advocacy Team to create a Family Wellness and Resilience Plan, setting personalized goals for both adults and children.
  • Complete assessments to identify wellness needs, from physical and mental health to financial and vocational aspirations.

This phase establishes the groundwork for families to rebuild their lives, ensuring they are supported and empowered from the start.

Phase 2: Restore

In the second phase, families are equipped with the tools, skills, and knowledge to meet their goals. This phase focuses on:

  • Core Strength-Building Units: Covering life skills, trauma resilience, financial literacy, and human development.
  • Elective Training Opportunities: Families select from tailored trainings aligned with their personal wellness and resilience goals.
  • Family Advocacy Team Support: Regular check-ins ensure families stay on track while revising and updating their plans as needed.

By the end of this phase, families are prepared to begin their journey toward self-sufficiency.

Phase 3: Renew

The final phase focuses on goal achievement and transitioning to independent living. Families:

  • Actively pursue personal and financial goals, supported by ongoing check-ins with their Family Advocacy Team.
  • Participate in monthly community service activities, fostering connections and giving back.
  • Achieve milestones such as securing sustainable income, reducing reliance on subsidies, and developing savings for housing.

This phase culminates in families securing stable housing and confidently stepping into a future of lasting independence.

A Safe Home and A Fresh Start

Teenesha’s struggle to find a safe place to raise her two sons began long before she moved into Community LINC. She made the first step toward security by escaping a violent home. Sadly, she wasn’t given the time she needed to regroup. Instead, the young family bounced from shelter to shelter and eventually became the victims of two attempted drive-by shootings. Teenesha was thrilled to finally have a safe and stable home, and be out of the shelter system. The young family now has a home of their own and Teenesha has secured employment and childcare for the boys.
