Job Description
The Part-Time Lead Preschool Teacher – Behavioral Management Specialist plays a key role in our
Children’s Program, offering consistent emotional, social, and behavioral support to children affected
by trauma and housing instability. This individual leads classroom activities and one-on-one
sessions focused on behavioral development, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation within a
trauma-informed setting.

Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-8:30 PM

Program Support & Child Development

  • Lead structured classroom and individualized sessions to support behavioral growth and
    positive social interactions.
    Create and adapt a curriculum designed to meet emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Implement trauma-informed, proactive guidance strategies that promote self-regulation and
    resilience in children.
  • Provide a calm, safe, and inclusive environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the Children’s Program Coordinator, classroom aides, and volunteers to
    maintain a cohesive and nurturing atmosphere.
  • Participate in team meetings, provide updates on child progress, and contribute to program
    development.
  • Communicate with clarity, compassion, and professionalism when addressing child-specific
    concerns and classroom dynamics.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain confidential and accurate documentation of children’s behaviors, progress, and
    classroom observations.
  • Prepare periodic reports to support child development planning and program assessment.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social
    Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in behavioral management,
    special education, or trauma-informed environments.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral management techniques, trauma-informed care, and
    childhood development.
  • Ability to work with children from diverse backgrounds and adapt approaches to meet
    each child’s unique needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and empathetic
    approach.
